Idaho Rush SOccer Club

U6-U7-U8 Recreational Overview

The Recreation program is for beginning soccer players or kids who want to play without the pressure of winning. It is a non-competitive program, meaning we do not keep scores or standings, teams do not travel outside the Boise, Meridian, Eagle area and there are no extra fees for referees, coaching, etc.The focus is on teaching players the fundamental skills of the game. Families may choose to participate in either the fall or spring seasons, or both. Teams usually play six games over the course of seven to eight weeks.

OVERVIEW

Idaho Rush is the Treasure Valley's answer to soccer. With registrants in the Boise, Eagle and Meridian areas, we are able to randomly form teams that allow players to meet new friends and reduce the atmosphere of competition. The intent of the Recreation program is to try to make practice and game locations as convenient as possible. Teams are formed by age and gender based on the geographic area of town you live in. Teams should practice around the area you live in. Game locations are at Simplot sports complex and/or Optimist Youth Sports Complex both located in Boise on Saturdays for 6 weeks.

In the fall the games start the Saturday after the labor day holiday and in the spring the first game is usually the final Saturday in March or the first Saturday in April to avoid playing games over spring break weekends.

For carpooling reasons and to keep siblings together, players may request to be rostered with ONE other player of the same age group. Teams are formed randomly and could change from season to season.

Players registering after the posted deadlines are rostered on a space-available basis, which may mean a player will be assigned to a team outside their geographic area.

All coaches, referees, and other officials and administrators are volunteers. Each team must supply a coach, and a referee for home games from the team parent pool or find someone other than a parent to fill the positions. Online and in person training is provided for coaches."

Practice

Practices are limited to no more than twice a week at no more than an hour and a half at a time. Practices generally begin one weeks before the first game. Players are guaranteed 50 percent playing time during the season.

The head coach of the team determines the practice location. time and day of the week. All teams are encouraged to practice within there Geographical location.  The Head coach will communicate all details.
