Andrew Delarosa, a defender for the five-time State Cup champion U18 Nike team, has been awarded the US Youth Soccer William J. "Billy" Goaziou Scholarship for his work both on and off the field.
The scholarships are awarded for post-secondary education. The two $1,000 scholarships are awarded based on community service, giving back to the game of soccer and to honor the memory of William J. "Billy" Goaziou for his outstanding services for soccer and US Youth Soccer. The scholarships are awarded annually through the US Youth Soccer Foundation to one male and one female recipient.
Last season Andrew was an honorable mention for his all-conference high school team and has been a key member of the U18 Nike team since the team was formed when he was a U10 player. He plans to continue his studies at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Prescott, Ariz., where he will also play soccer for the Eagles. US Youth Soccer has a complete story on its web site.
