Adidas to provide new Rush Soccer uniforms

adidas logoAdidas, the global leader in soccer and partners with the world's greatest soccer clubs, will outfit all 27 Rush Soccer clubs in the US in the latest cutting-edge soccer uniforms and gear and provide opportunities for coaches and players to develop their skills through international and national competitions and clinics.

“I am very pleased to announce our formal agreement with Adidas,” said Jerome de Bontin, chairman of Rush Soccer. “Our priority in selecting a manufacturer was to identify a company that could provide an affordable, quality uniform delivered in a timely fashion to our player pool of 32,000. We are confident Adidas will deliver on all fronts and is the right partner for Rush Soccer.”

Through the Adidas partnership, Rush coaches will have the opportunity to participate in coaching education courses at the Real Madrid Youth Academy and Rush Select teams will travel overseas to compete against the best international talent through the Adidas International Travel Program. Adidas will support Rush Soccer’s REACH program, which provides uniforms and equipment to disadvantaged youth in developing countries to develop youth soccer skills and promote health and education.

The partnership with Adidas means Idaho Rush players in the Select and Competitive programs will begin wearing Adidas uniforms beginning with the fall 2013 season. Below is information about the transition that all Idaho Rush players need, followed by more information specific to the program your player is in. We are also working on an FAQ page for the web site that will answer most of your questions about the change.

FOR ALL PLAYERS

There will be no changes for the upcoming spring 2013 season. The earliest anyone needs to worry about new uniforms is May of 2013 when players begin registering for the fall 2013 season or spring 2014 season.

Right now, we do not have any specific information about the new Adidas uniforms. We don’t know what they will look like, what they will cost (other than to say they will be slightly less expensive than the Nike uniforms), or when they will be available. Most of those decisions are made by Rush Soccer at the national level. We will pass that information along to you as soon as we get it.

RECREATION AND PAKS PLAYERS

The only change for PAKS and Recreation players is that we will begin recommending black Adidas shorts and socks to complete the uniform rather than Nike. Rec players will continue to wear the same reversible jerseys we have used for the past few years, and PAKS players will continue to receive a T-shirt uniform at the beginning of each season. The change will have a minimal effect on PAKS and Recreation players.

SELECT AND SELECT-HIGH SCHOOL PLAYERS

There will not be any changes for the upcoming spring 2013 season. Beginning with the fall 2013 season, all Select players – both returning players and new players – will transition to new Adidas jerseys, shorts and socks. We will include the purchase of the new uniforms as part of the online registration process.

    • What about right now? Players who need new uniforms (or replacement pieces) immediately for the spring 2013 season may continue to buy Nike jerseys at the Rush office for 50 percent off of the normal price (NOTE: discount applies only to jerseys, not shorts or socks). Availability of existing Nike uniforms is limited to stock on hand, and we will not order more Nike uniforms. If you need some or all of the current uniform, we suggest buying early because we WILL run out of sizes as we get closer to the beginning of the season.
    • Can I buy the Adidas uniforms right now? At this time, we do not know which Adidas uniforms will use and we do not anticipate having the Adidas uniforms in stock until late summer 2013.

COMPETITIVE-GIRLS PLAYERS

There will not be any changes for the upcoming spring 2013 season. Beginning with the fall 2013 season, girls will order new Adidas uniforms. This is a minor change for most players because girls teams were scheduled to buy new uniforms for the 2013-2014 year anyway.

    • What about right now? Players who need new uniforms (or replacement pieces) immediately for the spring 2013 season may continue to buy Nike jerseys online as normal. Availability of existing Nike uniforms is limited to stock on hand, and our supplier will not order more Nike uniforms.
    • What about warm-ups? Many people have inquired about buying the existing warm-ups for the chilly spring season. Rather than buy a warm-up now that will be outdated in six months, we recommend buying the non-branded Rush hooded sweatshirt instead. Contact the office for details.

COMPETITIVE-BOYS PLAYERS

There will not be any changes for the upcoming spring 2013 season. Beginning with the fall 2013 season, U10-U16 boys teams will need to order new Adidas uniforms. We understand that boys teams bought new uniforms for the fall 2012 season, and we will find ways to reduce the impact of the added expense. We will get details to people about that as soon as possible.
