Idaho Rush coaches and players raised nearly $1,800 in the annual Blue Toe fundraiser in early March. The money will benefit the transportation program of the Boys & Girls Club in Garden City. Every day, the club provides transportation to the club for over 60 kids from four elementary schools at no charge to their families..
Coaches pleadged to coach their games on Saturday, March 10, in their bare feet if their players donated certain amounts of money. Some coaches also got parents involved with various side bets and challenges, raising even more money. One popular side challenge was allowing payers to paint their coaches' toenails if they reached higher fundraising goals (phots below).
Idaho Rush prides itself not only on its soccer accomplishments, but on its ongoing participation in community service projects such as Rake Up Boise, TOPSoccer (for players with physical or mental disabilities), and our One World Soccer program for refugees. The Blue Toe is yet another way Rush players set themselves apart from being "just" soccer players.
